Swimming Carnival

The wet weather did not dampen the spirits of our students for this years Swimming Carnival. Other than parents spectating from the other side of the fence, everything ran as per usual. Students had the opportunity to race in 50m races, 25m races as well as novelty events and for the second year we were able to once again include our Aqua-thon. At the end of a full day swimming, the Aqua-thon required students to swim 50m, run a lap around the grassed area and then return to the pool for a final 50m swim. It is great to see an endless amount of energy and enthusiasm on display.

The winning House was Cumberland on 403 points, well ahead of their closest rivals Argyle and Roxburgh. Cumberland was also successful in winning the House Spirit Shield for the most points based on participation in races and our very first house ‘Dance Off’.

Congratulations also to Woojin S who broke a 4-year record for the 8 years 50m Freestyle.

IPSHA Swimming will be held at SOPAC on Tuesday, 2 March 2021. Notes will come home shortly for those students who have qualified. IPSHA have quite strict qualifying standards that need to be followed. This may mean that students will not qualify despite their finishing position at the carnival.

A list of names is on the Sports Notice Board for students to see.
