Uniform Matters

Mrs Michelle McDonnell - Principal
Uniform items and bags for our 2023 Kindergarten and Year 3 students are now ready for purchase, with the exception of the girls dress, which is now due early January. We will update families regarding this when they are available.
Families who would like to begin purchasing these in preparation for 2023 are encouraged to make an appointment with our School Shop by contacting Reception on 4627 2990.
Please note that our new St Peter's Anglican Grammar uniform, including Navy School bag, is compulsory for all students in Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and Year 3 in 2023.  Students in all other grades may continue to wear existing uniform items until they have outgrown these, at which point they will transition into our new uniform.  We are aware that there are a number of families who are keen to have all their children in our new uniform and this is also available.

School Arrival

Please note that no students should be dropped at school prior to 8.00am each morning as there is no staff supervision at this time. Preparatory school students who arrive before 8.00am will be escorted to OSHC.  Thank you for your understanding as we work together to ensure the safety of our students.

Vacation Care Programme

Our December Vacation Care Programme and booking information was emailed to families earlier today.  Please note that as previously notified, Vacation Care for December begins on Thursday, 8 December, with our OSHC Centre closed on Wednesday, 7 December.
The Programme for January Vacation Care will be emailed to families next week.

Run 4 Fun Colour Explosion Day

We had a fantastic time as a school community during our Colour Run yesterday.  Staff and students from across Kindergarten - Year 7 and Heart, ran, walked, danced, skipped and played ball games all while getting colourful!
It is now time to finalise donations, so that students may select prizes.  Any cash donations must be returned to school by Thursday, 10 November.  Prizes may then be ordered.

We appreciate the generosity of families and friends of St Peter's students in supporting our school fundraising.

Welcome to Week Four!

Welcome to Week Four! I have had a lovely time since arriving here last week. It has been great getting to meet many of you and to start to know this wonderful school.

A big thank you to staff and students who have worked so hard for Grandparents and Special Friends Day, the Exhibition Night for Year 6, and more recently the Music Festival and the Run 4 Fun Colour Explosion Day.

God is so creative, and I can see this trait in our school very clearly.

St Peters has such a wonderful and vibrant community. I look forward to getting to know you all in time.

God bless you all.

Congratulations Mr Seccombe!

As some of you would be aware, Mr Jon Seccombe is a talented composer, and has just had his latest composition released, Christmas time is here again.

The carol tells the old story of Christmas in a new refreshing way.

It features Mirusia Louwerse, the famous opera singer, who regularly tours with Andre' Rieu, the Dutch violinist.

It is available on streaming services,  and on the Merry Christmas CD available in stores.

Congratulations Mr Seccombe on this latest release! We love your passion and drive for high standards in everything you do.  You are a great blessing to our school.

IPSHA Gymnastics Carnival

The IPSHA Gymnastics Carnival took place on Thursday, 27 October at the Sydney Gymnastics and Aquatic Centre in Rooty Hill. St Peter’s took a team of 13 talented gymnasts to compete. These students were: Matilda T, Alexis B, Isabella K, Amelia C, Olivia P, Emma C, Sophie T, Arash P, Ella H, Danijela G, Alexander M, Oliver H and Robin A.

It was an exciting experience to compete against other amazing gymnasts who came from schools all round the Greater Sydney Region. All of our gymnasts received an IPSHA certificate for their efforts, noting their performances on different apparatus with either a blue, green or red sticker. Blue equalled a high score of 9 out of 10, Red equalled 8 out of 10 and Green equalled 7 out of 10. Many of our gymnasts received blue or red stickers, a fine achievement under the pressure of a competitive gymnastics environment. Some noteworthy performances included Alexander M who finished Tied 2nd in the Individual Level 1 Boy’s Vault and our Division 3, Level 3 Team (Emma C, Sophie T, Arash P & Ella H) who finished 4th out of 7 schools in their overall team competition.

Well done to all involved and thank you to Mrs McDonnell and Mr Connell for their support on the day.

Exhibition

What a joy it was to engage with Year 6 students during our Exhibition event last week. Students presented their research on a range of complex world issues such as pollution, conflict and access to water. I was immensely impressed with their maturity, knowledge and ideas for action to combat the many challenges faced by humanity.

Exhibition is a celebration of each student’s educational journey at St Peter’s. An opportunity to marvel at how they have grown, and to acknowledge the contribution of every teacher that has played a role in supporting and guiding them since Pre-Kindergarten in 2015. It was fantastic to welcome so many family members on the evening. A symbolic moment of the wonderful partnership between family and school in developing a firm foundation for life.
