New St Peter's Grammar Uniform

Mrs Michelle McDonnell - Principal
It has been wonderful to see our students beginning to wear their new uniforms.  They certainly look very smart.
Our new uniform is transeasonal.  This means that throughout the year, students may wear any one of the approved uniforms, with the addition of tie (Years 3-6 boys) and blazer (Years 3-6 girls and boys) in Term 2 and 3.

Please click here to view approved combination of uniform items.

Thank you for your patience as we have awaited supplies of uniform items.
As advised via Seesaw, the long elastic waist pants for Kindergarten - Year 2 boys and girls have now arrived.
We have been advised that the long sleeve blouses are in transit and we will advise families as soon as these arrive.
Fittings for all uniform items are available during the day Monday - Wednesday next week with payment taken over the phone.  Orders can be emailed to: shop@stpeters.nsw.edu.au
Alternatively, appointments can be made by contacting Reception: 4627 2990.

As the weather becomes colder in the morning when students are coming to school, students in Kindergarten - Year 2 wearing our new uniform may wear their Navy Sports Jacket over their jumper on very cold days.  Please note, the jacket may not be worn instead of the jumper.

Old St Peter's Uniform

We have a small number of second hand grey blazers.  Parents are welcome to contact the School Shop via email to determine if we have stock of a particular size.  We also have stock of size 6, 8, 10  and 12 grey shirts.
Students in Years 1 and 2 are encouraged to wear their blazer if it still fits, however, in line with our new St Peter's uniform, this will no longer be compulsory.  Students in Years 4-6 wearing the Old St Peter's uniform are expected to wear a blazer.

Mother's Day

It was fantastic to see so many of our school community gather to celebrate Mother's Day last week for Breakfast.  We hope that all our Mums and carers enjoyed spending time over a delicious bacon and egg roll or muffin and croissant.
Our students also enjoyed selecting a special gift at the Mother's Day Stall.  A big thanks to the small group of parents who spent time wrapping these gifts ready for sale.

Public Speaking Competition

Mrs Samantha Edmunds - Dean of Inquiry

I twiddled with my fingers, the anticipation building. Why did I have to be last? I watched as everyone devoured their speeches. Every participant spoke clearly using expression, gestures, drawing their audience in with a sweet song and completely captivating them.

It was too much to handle, I couldn’t control myself anymore. I stared as the line in front of me slowly disappeared by the minute, five people, four, three, and then the dreaded moment came, the person in front of me was no longer there. They were finishing their speech, “and that is why-” no, I couldn’t bear to listen, or even watch! At last, the moment came, they stopped speaking and I walked up to the side of the stage, my heart beating faster by the second. I took a deep breath, “Please welcome, Noah S!”. I can do this…

The actual speech, whether you believe it or not, was actually nowhere near as scary as the run up before it. As I presented my speech to the crowd, I had a mixture of pleasure, and doubt. Thoughts of, “Oh no I’m speaking too fast!” or “I missed a word! Do I go back or do I keep going!?” But I managed to keep myself calm, and complete my speech.

If you thought the prepared speech was hard, then you have a LOT to learn. Impromptu speeches are just like prepared speeches, except that instead of five weeks, you have five minutes, and instead of three minutes of speaking, there’s one. Impromptu is harder than making a piece of toast look like Darth Vader.

  • Noah (Competition Winner)

These are the thoughts of the 2023 Public Speaking Competition winner Noah S during the speech presentations held on Friday, 12 May 2023 in the school hall. Despite student nerves and adrenaline, Mrs Edmunds and Mr Stockinger are so impressed with the efforts and skills of the eleven students who presented both their prepared and impromptu speech. The judges and audience agree that each speaker was sensational and spoke with poise and conviction. Olivia P and Victoria A were awarded with a commendation for their presentations and Noah S won a commendation for his content matter and was the overall winner.

Well done to Alyssa F, Alyssa H, Sophia K, Noah S, Claire R, Lennox K, Imogen C, Olivia P, Arash P, Phoenix A and Victoria A for all your hard work in preparing for the competition.

Athletics Carnival

Mrs Kasie Bingham - Sports Administrator

The wind was still and the sun was shining. Something we all least expected based on the weather on the previous day. So the jackets were put away and students lined up for their races with much anticipation.

Our school Athletics Carnival was a good one! Held on Tuesday, 9 May, 2023 at Narellan Sports Hub Athletics Field, students enjoyed a thrilling day of running, field events and novelty challenges.

We are so thankful for every parent helper on the day. The carnival cannot run smoothly without you!

Parents and Guardians

Thank you to many of you who came to our Mother's Day breakfast! It was delightful to see the children have so much joy with their mothers, grandmothers, and the extraordinary women in their life. All the staff were heavily involved in the day, and seeing so many people enjoy themselves was lovely for us.

There are many things coming up on our calendar. May I draw your attention to the two Parent Information Sessions on Well-being which will be held:
Tuesday, 23 May 2023 at 2.00pm and 7.00pm.
Please bring your well-being questions with you.

The Friends of St Peter's Forum will be held Monday, 29 May from 6pm - 7pm in the Boardroom. I will gladly answer any questions you have and would like your opinions on our Well-being Programme.

As you know, God has created us all complex and unique, and at St Peter's, our focus is the whole child. We seek to nurture our students to be resilient and God-honouring as they step through life.

Thank you for your grace and thoughtfulness as we all partner together.
