New St Peter's Grammar Uniform

Mrs Michelle McDonnell - Principal
It has been wonderful to see our students beginning to wear their new uniforms.  They certainly look very smart.
Our new uniform is transeasonal.  This means that throughout the year, students may wear any one of the approved uniforms, with the addition of tie (Years 3-6 boys) and blazer (Years 3-6 girls and boys) in Term 2 and 3.

Please click here to view approved combination of uniform items.

We are awaiting stock of the Kindergarten - Year 2 elastic waist long pants.  We have been informed by the supplier that these should arrive next week.  There has also been a problem with the smaller sizes of the girls long sleeve blouse.  We have met with our supplier and this issue is being rectified.  We apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused. Our School Shop staff will be in contact as soon as stock of these items arrive.

As the weather becomes colder in the morning when students are coming to school, students in Kindergarten - Year 2 wearing our new uniform may wear their Navy Sports Jacket over their jumper on very cold days.  Please note, the jacket may not be worn instead of the jumper.

Old St Peter's Uniform

Our changeover period has now finished, with all students expected in Winter Uniform by next Monday, 8 May.
We have a small number of second hand grey blazers.  Parents are welcome to contact the School Shop via email to determine if we have stock of a particular size.  We also have stock of size 6, 8, 10  and 12 grey shirts.
Students in Years 1 and 2 are encouraged to wear their blazer if it still fits, however, in line with our new St Peter's uniform, this will no longer be compulsory.  Students in Years 4-6 wearing the Old St Peter's uniform are expected to wear a blazer.

Changes to Bus Runs

We have needed to make some modifications to our morning bus runs, consolidating the permanent bookings from Bus 3 into our other 2 runs.
Bus 1 will now be covering stops in Macarthur Heights, while Bus 2 is covering stops in Glen Alpine.
All families who have permanent bookings at these stops have been notified.  These changes mean that our buses are now arriving at school around 8.40am
There are no changes to afternoon bus runs at this time.

Please note: Buses transporting students to the Athletics Carnival on Tuesday, 9 May will not leave school until our School Buses have arrived.

ANZAC DAY March

On Tuesday, 25 April, ANZAC Day, St Peter's staff and students were invited to participate with other schools, community members and RSL Veterans in the ANZAC Day March along Queen Street, Campbelltown. The March concluded with a wreath laying ceremony at Mawson Park in respect of all who have given their lives in defence of this great country.

It was wonderful to have so many of our students present to mark this significant day.

Public Speaking Competition

Mrs Samantha Edmunds - Dean of Inquiry

American essayist and philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 -1882) once exclaimed that ‘Speech is power: speech is to persuade, to convert, to compel.’ And that is exactly what eleven students aim to do during the St Peter’s Public Speaking Competition which will be held on Friday, 12 May 2023 in the School Hall. The event will start promptly at 11:30am, gates open at 11:20am, and the school community is invited to attend.

The Public Speaking finalists have been working tirelessly over the last few weeks on their prepared speeches centred around the topics: Dear Future Self, A Recipe for Change, What Makes a Good Leader, How to Start a Movement, and Did Curiosity Kill the Cat?

Students will present their three-minute prepared speech in front of an audience of judges, parents, teachers, and peers and will also be given an impromptu topic to present during the competition.

We wish the following students all the best as they prepare to persuade, convict and compel with their oratory skills next week.

Year 4 - Alyssa H, Sophia K, Alyssa F
Year 5 - Lennox K, Imogen C, Claire R, Noah S
Year 6 - Victoria A, Olivia P, Phoenix A, Ash P

Good Afternoon Friends!

What a great start to the term we have had!

The Anzac Day Parade had a great turnout of students that made me proud to see. They were a credit to themselves and our school. Thank you Mrs McDonnell for overseeing our contingent.

I have the honour to share Mr Raft's news with you - Congratulations Mr Raft on being selected for the NSW Fire and Rescue Service! There is a gruelling selection process where only 1 in every 1000 applicants is selected. We know that you are one in a million Mr Raft, so we know you will make a great fireman. We will miss you greatly.

Mr Procuik will take over 5R, and he has spent some time with the class already. Mr Procuik is our PE Specialist, and Mr Vernon will be returning to this role that he last held in 2022. God has been very kind to us in providing just the right people with the right expertise in this space.

I warmly commend the Coronation of King Charles III to you on Saturday evening. It will be a feast for the eyes, and an opportunity to have some excellent conversations with your children about politics, government, historic moments, and, of course, our King Jesus, who is King of Kings.

God bless you.

Parents and Friends of St Peter's Meeting

All parents are invited to join us on Monday, 29 May 6.00pm -7.00pm in the Boardroom.
This is an opportunity for parents, carers, and people that are important in the life of our students to have their say about issues concerning the school, and some of the upcoming events this term.
This meeting's focus is on the wellbeing of students, and to gather feedback on the Parents Forum (23 May).

Please bring your thoughts and creative ideas!
We will start and end promptly as we value your time.
